Iowa’s Award Winning Seafood Since ‘84.
Waterfront has been a family-owned business in West Des Moines since 1984. Our family wanted to bring quality seafood to the Des Moines area and this idea began with a fresh fish market that has grown to a restaurant, sushi, and oyster bar. We are proud to have grown into the midwest’s premier establishment for all things seafood.
We have been buying fresh fish from the same people for many years. Their experience and expertise help bring the highest quality fish and seafood from their boat to your plate.
Our trained staff are here to answer all of your questions about cooking techniques, seasonings, and storage. We want you to enjoy and feel comfortable cooking our fresh fish at home. We also carry spices and kitchen tools that will make cooking fun and easy.
You can be assured if we are not satisfied with what’s coming in our back door, it won’t go out our front door.

Catch Of The Day!
We insist on the freshest ingredients in our market and on our plates. By buying direct, we get the freshest fish and seafood from trusted sources all over the country. As soon as that fish is caught, it’s already on its way here.
FeaTured Seafood this week:
Alaskan King Salmon, Chilean Sea Bass, Pompfret, Patrole Sole, American Red Snapper, Black Grouper, Arctic Char
Only the Best for Our Customers!
Waterfront Seafood is the gold standard in fresh and quality seafood. Our stock comes from sustainable sources right off the dock. Quality is guaranteed with our dock-to-plate process and we butcher on site to lock in the freshness. Come in and taste the difference.

“Wanna KNOW how to peel a prawn?” Growing up with Waterfront made Nick Hanke the prawn peelin’ king.
His dad says “yeah, it takes more time to do it this way, peeling them order-by-order, but that’s how we keep it fresh—we don’t want it just sitting there. We want our customers to get the best—we like to spoil ‘em.”
This kind of special treatment sets Waterfront apart. It’s why the pool of regulars is so big. It’s why every hour is rush hour.
