Grilled Tuna with Herbed Aioli

A tasty and crisp barbeque tuna served with a flavorful sauce.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp chopped basil
  • 2 tsp chopped fresh thyme
  • 2 tsp dried tarragon
  • 2 large garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup Mayonnaise
  • 4 7oz tuna steaks, 1 inch thick

Directions

  1. Whisk first 6 ingredients in shallow dish for marinade. 
  2. Place mayonnaise in separate small bowl.   Whisk in 1 ½ Tbsp marinade to make aioli.  Set aioli aside.
  3. Sprinkle fish with salt and pepper.
  4. Place fish in marinade dish, turning to coat evenly. Marinate at room temperature 1 hour, turning dish occasionally.
  5. Oil grill rack. 
  6. Prepare barbecue to medium high heat. 
  7. Grill fish to desired doneness about 3 minutes per side for medium.
  8. Top fish with aioli and serve.
